What We Can and Cannot Move: Non-Transportable and Prohibited Items Policy

At Alpha & Omega Moving, safety, legality, and protection of our clients’ property are our top priorities. To ensure a smooth and compliant moving process, it is important for customers to understand which items can be transported and which items are restricted or prohibited. This policy helps prevent delays, damage, and safety risks on moving day.

Why Certain Items Are Restricted

Some items pose risks due to safety regulations, transportation laws, or insurance limitations. Others may be hazardous, perishable, or irreplaceable. By following these guidelines, both clients and movers are protected throughout the relocation process.

Understanding this policy in advance helps ensure accurate planning, proper packing, and a stress-free move.

Non-Transportable Items

The following items are generally not transported by Alpha & Omega Moving under any circumstances:

Cash, coins, and financial documents
Jewelry, watches, and high-value personal items
Passports, birth certificates, and legal papers
Prescription medications and medical supplies
Personal electronics containing sensitive data

These items should always remain with the client during the move.

Prohibited and Hazardous Materials

For safety and legal reasons, Alpha & Omega Moving cannot transport hazardous or restricted materials, including:

Flammable liquids and gases (gasoline, propane, lighter fluid)
Explosives, ammunition, and firearms
Chemicals, acids, and corrosive substances
Fireworks and pressurized containers
Toxic, radioactive, or biohazard materials

Transporting these items may violate federal or state regulations and create serious safety risks.

Perishable and Living Items

Moving trucks are not suitable for transporting living or perishable items. This includes:

Fresh or frozen food
Plants, flowers, and soil
Pets, animals, or insects

Clients should arrange separate transportation for these items to ensure their well-being.

Items with Special Restrictions

Some belongings may require special handling or approval prior to moving:

Alcoholic beverages (subject to local regulations)
Large batteries or power storage units
Items with strong odors
Certain oversized or unusually shaped items

Client Responsibilities

To avoid delays or additional charges, clients are responsible for:

Reviewing this policy before moving day
Informing the moving team of restricted items
Removing prohibited items from packed boxes
Transporting personal valuables independently

Our team reserves the right to refuse transport of any item that violates this policy.
